The 'Thursday Night Live Show' is hosted by John Lommers
John Lommers, who is also known as "Bad Motherfunker," began his career as a DJ at the age of 12 at his local soccer club. Remarkably, he constructed his own speakers, DJ set, and FM transmitter at such a young age. In 1980, at only 15 years old, John was given a significant opportunity to work as a light jockey at the Discotheater Galaxy in Den Bosch. This experience working alongside DJs such as Robin Albers, Arjen de Gram, Svenno Koemans, Jan van Son, and Joep Gersjes fueled his ambition to become a DJ himself.
Four years later, in 1984, John was given the opportunity to DJ at Galaxy himself, starting with Sunday afternoons, eventually filling in on weekends, and eventually becoming one of the resident DJs. He went on to play at other clubs such as Broadway (Erp), De Rodenburg (Beesd), and Toys (Uden). John expanded his DJing work to include large national roadshows for Veronica, Tros Popformule drive-in shows, and Philips Moving Sound Sound shows. He also has a deep passion for radio and worked for several years at stations in Amsterdam (Extra 108) and Belgium (Fantasy FM). In addition, John Lommers, is the organizer of the annual Galaxy Classics Party, which has been held since 2012. |
